Andrea - I love the idea of a place to share good news. My sense has always been, good news doesn't get as much coverage b/c bad news is more . . . interesting? There's a website called Good News Network, founded in 1997 by a woman who felt similarly, and went big to counter. Also, do you know about Grist, a newsletter of positive climate stories? They do a great job.

Thanks for the mention! I love those photos - did you harvest any of the turkey tails?

Yes, good news doesn't get as much coverage, primarily because of negativity bias--it's how are brains are wired: to notice the bad stuff so that we can avoid it. So we find it more "interesting". I hadn't heard of Good News Network--thanks for the tip! I didn't harvest the turkey tails because they are right next to the trail and I want everyone else to be able to enjoy them. I enjoy watching them grow every day. They are so pretty!

I love those closeups of the plants along the trail too. Those are some of the thrills of early spring. I remind myself to marvel at the early growth on our own trails and in our native plant-oriented "yard." I like the images of you, too! I've always wanted to see you in action in the field, and now here you are!
